Welcome to She Knows Something (“SKS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

She Knows Something is a private, membership-based community that allows eligible members to search for dating-related information, ask whether other members have firsthand experience with someone, share their own experiences, and access information contributed by other members.

By creating an account, accessing the community, or using any SKS feature, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Community Guidelines and Privacy Policy. Failure to follow these rules will result in your removal from posting, or the site, at the administrators discretion. You will also lose your joining fee.

1. What She Knows Something Is

SKS is an information-sharing platform.

Members may use SKS to:

  • Search existing Dating Checks
  • Ask The Girls whether another member knows someone
  • Start a Dating Check
  • Share firsthand Dating Experiences
  • Submit Dating Intel
  • Submit Safety Concerns
  • Participate in permitted discussions
  • Save Dating Checks and receive available updates

SKS does not tell members whom they should date or whether they should begin, continue, or end a relationship.

SKS does not designate individuals as “safe,” “unsafe,” “good,” “bad,” trustworthy, dangerous, compatible, or incompatible.

Information appearing on SKS should be considered one source of information, not a substitute for your own judgment, independent verification, professional advice, law enforcement, emergency services, or appropriate safety precautions.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use SKS.

Membership is currently limited to women who satisfy our membership and identity-verification requirements.

You must provide accurate information during registration and verification.

You may not create an account for another person, impersonate another person, maintain unauthorized duplicate accounts, permit another person to use your account, or attempt to access SKS after your membership has been suspended or terminated.

We reserve the right to approve, reject, suspend, or terminate membership consistent with these Terms and applicable law.

3. Identity Verification

SKS may require identity, age, telephone, email, social media page, or other verification before granting or maintaining access.

Verification means that SKS has taken steps to verify information associated with the member's identity.

Verification does not mean that SKS has independently verified every statement, allegation, opinion, photograph, relationship, or experience submitted by that member.

This distinction is important.

A “verified member” is not the same thing as a “verified allegation.”

4. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for activity conducted through your account.

You may not share your login information or allow another person to view SKS through your account.

If you believe your account has been compromised, notify us promptly at ask@sheknowssomething.com.

5. Private Community Information

SKS is designed as a private membership community.

Information available inside SKS is provided for members' personal dating-information and safety purposes.

Members may not systematically collect, scrape, download, reproduce, republish, sell, license, distribute, publicly post, or commercially exploit information obtained through SKS.

Members also may not use SKS to organize harassment, retaliation, intimidation, discrimination, stalking, or unwanted contact.

However, SKS cannot guarantee that another member will never photograph, screenshot, record, disclose, or misuse information she sees.

Members should submit information with that limitation in mind.

6. Dating Checks

A Dating Check is an organizational record used to associate approved community contributions with the person those contributions concern.

The existence of a Dating Check does not mean that the person has engaged in misconduct.

A Dating Check may contain positive, neutral, mixed, or concerning experiences.

Likewise, the absence of a Dating Check or Safety Concern does not mean that SKS has determined someone is safe, trustworthy, or free of prior concerns.

7. Ask The Girls

Ask The Girls allows a member to make a neutral inquiry when she wants to know whether another member has firsthand experience with someone.

For example:

“Matched with him recently. Anybody know him?”

An Ask The Girls inquiry is not itself an allegation of misconduct.

Members may not use Ask The Girls to disguise accusations, spread rumors, invite speculation, or solicit gossip about someone they do not know.

If another member has substantive information to contribute, SKS may direct her to Share What You Know so the information can be submitted through the appropriate structured and moderated process.

8. Share What You Know

SKS separates different kinds of information because they are not equivalent.

Dating Experience includes firsthand experiences arising from communicating with, meeting, dating, or having a relationship with someone.

Dating Intel includes dating-related information that may materially affect another member's understanding of a dating situation, including possible overlapping relationships, conflicting exclusivity representations, relationship-status discrepancies, or significant identity/profile discrepancies.

Safety Concern includes serious reports involving conduct such as violence, threats, stalking, sexual misconduct, coercive behavior, fraud, financial exploitation, or other significant safety issues.

Safety Concerns may receive additional review and may not be handled in the same manner as ordinary Dating Experiences or Dating Intel.

9. Firsthand Information

Whenever SKS asks for firsthand experience, you must limit your submission to information you personally experienced, observed, received, or otherwise have a legitimate basis to describe.

Do not present rumor as fact.

Do not submit:

“My friend's cousin said he abuses women.”

You may describe your own experience:

“I dated him from approximately March through June. He told me during that period that we were exclusive.”

When discussing information communicated directly to you, distinguish between what someone told you and what you independently know to be true.

10. Facts, Opinions, and Conclusions

Be precise.

Describe what happened rather than assigning unnecessary labels.

For example, describing dates, messages, representations, conduct, and your reaction to an experience generally provides other members with more useful context than simply labeling someone a “cheater,” “narcissist,” “psychopath,” “abuser,” “criminal,” “predator,” or similar term.

Do not diagnose another person's mental or medical condition.

Do not state that someone committed a crime unless you have an appropriate factual basis and the statement is permitted under our moderation standards.

Where something is your opinion or impression, present it as such.

11. Member Representations

Each time you submit information, you represent that:

  • You are submitting information in good faith.
  • You are not knowingly submitting false or materially misleading information.
  • You have a legitimate basis for the information you are sharing.
  • Where SKS requires firsthand experience, the submission reflects your own experience.
  • You have not materially altered screenshots, photographs, messages, recordings, or other supporting materials in a misleading manner.
  • You will distinguish material facts from assumptions, rumors, and personal opinions.
  • You are not submitting information for revenge, extortion, harassment, intimidation, leverage, or financial gain.
  • You will provide additional context when necessary to prevent your submission from creating a materially misleading impression.

12. Prohibited Content

You may not submit or distribute:

  • Knowingly false or materially misleading information
  • Fabricated evidence
  • Materially manipulated screenshots or communications
  • Rumors presented as established facts
  • Threats
  • Harassment
  • Hate speech
  • Extortion or blackmail
  • Revenge content
  • Nonconsensual intimate imagery
  • Sexually explicit images submitted without lawful authorization
  • Home addresses
  • Personal telephone numbers
  • Personal email addresses
  • Financial-account information
  • Social Security numbers or government identification numbers
  • Precise real-time locations
  • Information identifying minor children
  • Unnecessary information about someone's family members
  • Medical information that is not legitimately yours to disclose
  • Information intended primarily to humiliate rather than inform
  • Instructions encouraging members to contact, confront, follow, investigate, harass, expose, or retaliate against another person
  • Content that violates another person's intellectual-property rights or applicable law.

13. No Doxxing

SKS is not a doxxing platform.

Information used internally to distinguish between individuals does not necessarily need to be displayed publicly within the community.

Members should not publish someone's home address, private phone number, private email, workplace schedule, vehicle information, financial information, children's information, or other unnecessary identifying information.

14. Photographs and Supporting Materials

Only upload photographs or materials that you are legally permitted to submit.

Photos should be used for legitimate identification and dating-information purposes.

Do not submit intimate images.

Do not materially manipulate evidence.

Supporting documents provided for moderation may be treated differently from information displayed to other members.

SKS may redact or decline to display information that unnecessarily identifies third parties or exposes private information.

15. No Vigilantism or Contact Campaigns

Information obtained through SKS may not be used to organize action against the person discussed.

Do not:

  • Contact his employer because of an SKS post
  • Contact his family
  • Contact his children
  • Contact another partner for the purpose of harassment
  • Publish his information elsewhere to “expose” him
  • Encourage other members to contact him
  • Threaten him with publication on SKS
  • Use SKS information to extort or coerce him
  • Organize mass reporting or harassment campaigns

SKS exists to help members make their own dating decisions, not to punish people.

16. Moderation

SKS may review content before or after publication.

We may approve, reject, redact, categorize, request clarification about, temporarily hide, restrict, or remove content consistent with our policies and applicable law.

Moderation does not mean SKS guarantees that published content is true, complete, current, or independently verified.

Moderation also does not transform a member's statement into a statement made by SKS.

Where practical, substantive edits should preserve the contributor's intended meaning rather than changing a negative experience into a positive one or vice versa. FTC guidance for review platforms similarly emphasizes transparent moderation and warns against altering the message or treating positive and negative submissions differently.

17. Supporting Information

SKS may request additional information when reviewing a submission.

Depending on the circumstances, this could include approximate dates, communications, screenshots, photographs, or other contextual material.

Providing supporting information does not guarantee publication.

Likewise, SKS's decision to publish a submission does not constitute a representation by SKS that every factual assertion has been independently proven.

18. Reports, Corrections, and Disputes

SKS provides a process for reporting potentially inaccurate, unlawful, privacy-invasive, impersonating, or policy-violating content.

A person who is the subject of content may submit a request for review through ask@sheknowssomething.com.

SKS may request information reasonably necessary to:

  • Identify the content at issue
  • Confirm identity
  • Understand the specific statement being challenged
  • Understand the basis for the challenge
  • Evaluate supporting information

We may temporarily restrict content during review when appropriate.

After review, SKS may leave the content unchanged, add context, correct information, redact information, restrict visibility, or remove content.

Submitting a dispute does not guarantee removal.

19. No Retaliation for Corrections

Members may not harass, threaten, shame, identify, or retaliate against someone because she corrected, clarified, withdrew, or requested removal of her own contribution.

Accuracy is more important than “winning.”

20. Your Contributions

You retain ownership of content you create to the extent permitted by law.

You grant SKS the nonexclusive rights reasonably necessary to host, store, reproduce, display, format, moderate, organize, and otherwise operate the service using your contribution, subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

We should have counsel draft the final license language carefully. The FTC notes that standardized consumer contracts cannot simply require consumers to surrender intellectual-property rights in their reviews of a business, another reason not to use an unnecessarily sweeping “we own everything you post forever” clause.

21. Removal of Your Contribution

Members may request removal or correction of their own contributions through ask@sheknowssomething.com.

Removing your contribution does not necessarily remove the entire Dating Check when other members have independently contributed information about the same person.

SKS may retain limited records when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, abuse prevention, or enforcement of these Terms, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.

22. Membership Fees

Certain features may require a paid membership.

Pricing, billing frequency, renewal terms, cancellation procedures, and available features will be disclosed before purchase.

Payment does not entitle a member to have content published, prevent content from being moderated, or influence whether SKS approves or rejects a submission.

SKS will not sell favorable treatment of information about an individual.

23. No Incentives Based on Sentiment

SKS will not condition member compensation, benefits, or incentives on submitting positive or negative information.

Current FTC rules prohibit certain practices involving fake reviews and incentives conditioned on a particular sentiment, and FTC guidance emphasizes neutral treatment of positive and negative reviews. Although SKS's specific content model is not identical to a conventional product-review site, neutral moderation is the safer design principle.

24. Intellectual Property

The SKS name, branding, platform design, original written materials, software, graphics, and other proprietary platform materials are owned by SKS or its licensors.

Membership does not grant permission to copy or commercially exploit SKS proprietary materials.

25. Suspension and Termination

SKS may restrict, suspend, or terminate an account for conduct including:

  • Providing false registration information
  • Circumventing verification
  • Account sharing
  • Knowingly false submissions
  • Fabricated evidence
  • Doxxing
  • Harassment
  • Retaliation
  • Threats
  • Scraping
  • Unauthorized republication
  • Impersonation
  • Repeated policy violations
  • Misuse of Safety Concern reporting
  • Attempting to identify or retaliate against contributors
  • Using SKS information for commercial investigation or other unauthorized purposes

Serious violations may result in immediate termination.

26. Emergency Situations

SKS is not an emergency service.

If you believe you or another person is in immediate danger, contact 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.

SKS should not be used as a substitute for law enforcement, medical care, legal counsel, domestic-violence resources, or other professional assistance.

27. No Guarantee of Accuracy or Completeness

SKS contains user-generated information.

Although SKS may moderate submissions, we cannot guarantee that every statement is accurate, complete, current, or free from misunderstanding.

Experiences may differ.

The presence of multiple reports does not itself prove every allegation contained in those reports.

The absence of reports does not establish that a person has never engaged in concerning conduct.

Use the information as one input in your own decision-making.

28. Changes to the Service

SKS may modify features, membership requirements, moderation processes, or these Terms as the service evolves.

Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.

29. Governing Law, Disputes, Liability and Other Legal Provisions

Counsel should specifically address:

  • Maryland governing law and venue
  • Arbitration versus court proceedings
  • Class-action waiver, if appropriate
  • Limitation of liability
  • Warranty disclaimers
  • Indemnification
  • DMCA/copyright process
  • Section 230 considerations
  • Subpoenas and legal requests
  • Privacy statutes applicable in states where members reside
  • Biometric/identity-verification laws if a third-party verification provider uses biometric data
  • Data retention/deletion requirements
  • Required consumer-subscription disclosures and cancellation rules
